Delphos Hosts Hometown Christmas For Businesses
Mr. and Mrs. Claus came to town Friday. The Kiwanis Club in Delphos offered its annual Hometown Christmas to spread the holiday cheer.
The event kicked off with the Canal Commission Christmas Tree Festival where more than one hundred trees were decorated. People came to visit the trees at the Delphos Canal Museum. Children had the opportunity to enjoy Christmas cookies and hot chocolate while making a stop at different downtown businesses. Owner of Schrader Realty, Krista Schrader, explained what it means to her and other local businesses putting this event together.
“We love it when the kids come. They come every single year and their faces just light up. They’re used to coming every year, so they get excited. They actually now are in a routine that they just know what to do. We just love the kids and my clients come, we have new clients, we have old clients, we have some that aren’t even our clients. They come and bring their kids and just to see the kids excitement, that’s what its all about,” says Schrader.
Annually for this event, businesses will see around 300 to 400 kids walk through their doors.
